Event ID 219 The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\WPD\0000.

How to fix this warning:

Event ID 219
The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device ROOT\WPD\0000.

Cause:

Error is caused by Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework
"Service" being disabled or will load sometimes in manual, should be automatic.

Fix:

Start/Run/services.msc
Go to Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework
Change startup type to automatic.

Note: the driver WUDFRd.sys is associated with Logitech keyboards and mice

Switching Windows Driver Foundation from Manual to Automatic has stopped error 219 occurring in my Event Viewer when I plug in a memories stick. Now they open promptly.
Meaningful bits of the message are:
Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\...
And: USB_2.0&PROD_FLASH_DISK&REV_0....
And: SANDISK&PROD_CRUZER_EDGE&REV_1....
I link this error to installing the proper driver for a Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader. Then it appears in the Universal Serial Bus controller in the Device Manager. With W7’s drivers, it appeared in Devices and Printers and needed troubleshooting. As this did not work, I uninstalled W7’s drivers and installed Realtek’s.
